OK. Thanks for clarifying. Is it possible to add a video image slider plugin and add it as a section to the home page to replace the slider that comes with the theme?

You can try this https://wordpress.org/plugins/slider-video/. As this plugin has stated that it supports shortcode. You can create slider with the help of this plugin and put the shortcode to Pages -> Home -> Choose a shortcode block and add shortcode.
Then Go to Appearnace -> Customize -> Theme Settings -> Section Reordering. At the bottom you will see “Content Area”. Drag it to whatever position you want and publish the changes.
